This workshop explores some 12th century doodling to decorate Versal letterforms as used in medieval manuscripts of that time. You will learn the basics of drawing Versals, a majuscule (capital) letterform which was written at the beginning of verses in the body of text on a 12th century manuscript page. In contemporary use these letters can also be used for the text of a piece. The 'zentangles' are the fine lined decorative doodlings that were done to highlight the Versal letters. You will learn the simple shapes and squiggles that characterise this decoration.
