Illuminated manuscripts of the 11th to 15th centuries are admired for their beautiful calligraphy embellished with intricate decorative patterns. Vining patterns were used extensively to fill borders and surround decorated initials.
This day is all about the styles and techniques of creating traditional illuminations of growing vines with their berries, flowers, leaf patterns and filligrees for your formal calligraphy pieces. These patterns are ideal for decorating Gothic scripts, Italic and early roundhand calligraphy.
Beginner to intermediate students are welcome.
